caburera-big_webThe kick-off meeting of the project Capacity Building Relay Race – CaBuReRa was held from the 24th to the 26th of March at CESIE. CaBuReRa is developed under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrumetn (ENPI) and it has a total budget of € 1.680.000,00, 90% of which is funded by the European Union.

The partnership composed by 6 countries, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Portugal have met and started to plan the activities for this 2 years ambitious project.

Youth unemployment have become a critical issue on both sides of the Mediterranean and is made more dramatic by skills mismatch between job seekers and organizations needs. In that context, the CaBuReRa project, coordinated by CESIE, intends to contribute to the reduction of youth unemployment in the Mediterranean area, through youth mobility and professional training in the field of cooperation and project management. In total 90 young people will realize a professional mobility within the 6 partners countries.

The project also aims to reinforce Civil Society Organisations by strengthening the networks and collaboration between the two shores of the Mediterranean, in order to develop efficient synergies to struggle against youth unemployment.

For each partners, three staff members took part, each of them presenting the activities for which they will be responsible, as well as a precise work plan for their implementation. A great cohesion took place between the whole partnership: determined to work on the most collaborative way to achieve CaBuReRa’s objectives.

The next step will be the 4 months mobilities periods for 30 youth workers from each of the 6 partners countries. They will spend 4 months within one of the partner organization to improve their capacities in project management and project design in the Mediterranean area.
