PANGEA – Volunteering for connecting Continents

CESIE started the selection process for 2 Italian volunteers who will be involved in the activities of the Senegalese organization Jeunesse en action GNO FAR within the PANGEA project that will take place in Zinguichor, in the South of Senegal for a period of 6 months from the 1st of June 2013 till the 31st of November 2013.

PANGEA project will involve 5 volunteers coming from different European countries: Italy, France, Hungary and Spain. The volunteers will be involved in the activities of the hosting organization as well as of the local centres, doing tasks related to sustainable development.

The volunteers will support the work of the local staff, and they will be the facilitator of several indoor and outdoor activities for youngsters, children and women: educative activities (literacy support, individual and group support, linguistic and IT courses, excursions, support disable children);  information point for youngsters (sensitization activities about HIV, malaria, pregnancy and birth control); environmental activities (researches and methods of recycling).

Moreover the volunteers will have the important role of supporting the hosting organization, which is born from the wish of 2 young Senegalese who spent 10 months in Palermo for an EVS project and then they decided to become active part of their own town and they will contribute to the development of different local activities and to the personal and professional growth of the selected volunteers. The volunteers, on their side, will be involved in fundraising activities and local initiatives, that will allow the hosting organization to strengthen its work and development.

The volunteers should have basic French knowledge.

Age limit: 18-30 years old.

The 90% of the travel costs will be covered and the volunteers will receive a monthly allowance for their personal expenses and they will be hosted by local families which will provide for the meals so that the volunteers will be able to integrate themselves and deeply know the African culture.

The selection process will be the following:

-first step: evaluation of CV and motivation letter

-second step: face to face interviews at CESIE office.

The travel costs to participate at the face to face interview are not covered.
