Recoring Tradition: The art of storytelling to share and collect traditions
Videos and photos recollet stories far back in time engraving in the memory traditions and habits that otherwise would be lost.
Promoting closer cooperation and understanding among the world’s young people through the exchange of traditions, experiences and ideas. Yeu Cyprus proposes Recording Tradition Youth Exchange involving 40 participants from Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Italy, Estonia, Bulgaria, Sweden, Poland from 18 to 29 October 2018.
In particular, we are looking for 4 italians or resident in Italy participants and a group leader interested in living a fascinating experience of 12 days to rediscover traditions, especially those that have been forgotten over the years, through videos and photos
Participants will be involved in informal activities such as icebreakers, interactive and creative outdoor workshops, and environmental visits, discussions, role-playing games, reflections and informal meetings.
The ideal candidates must be:
- Willing to acquire new knowledge, skills and competences in the field of tradition, in particular through non-formal and informal education methods.
- Interested in learning about other cultures and sharing their skills and knowledge with other participants.
Profile of the 4 participants
- 4 Italian participants or residents in Italy between 18 and 30 years of age.
- Able to communicate and follow the activity in English.
- Basic knowledge of tradition, photography, video, or involvement in tradition (dance, music, arts, crafts, etc.)
Profile of the group leader candidates:
- To be over 18 years old
- Italian citizenship (or residents in Italy)
- At least a basic level of English.
Youth Exchange Information
Where: Troodos Mountains, Cyprus
When: 18th-29th October 2018
Accommodation and meals: fully covered by the Erasmus+ Programme.
Participation fee: €60*
Travel costs: 2 ways travel ticket covered by the Erasmus+ Programme up to a limit of € 275 (as for Erasmus+ Guidelines and Distance Calculator)

What is a Youth Exchange?
CESIE gives you the opportunity to participate in a Youth Exchange funded by the European Commission.
Youth exchange allows groups of young people ages of 13 and 30.from different countries to meet, live together and work on shared projects for short periods. It is a learning opportunity that take place outside the school environment where you can expect to participate in activities such as workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, outdoor activities. Participants’ learning experiences are recognised through a Youthpass.
