CESIE is looking for one Italian volunteer interested in an EVS project in Cameroon in the field of teaching to children. The volunteer period will last 6 months: from April 1st to September 30th 2014.
The project is managed and promoted by CAPEC – Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child, and will take place in a school in Yaoundè, where the volunteer will have the chance to offer a contribution working as a teacher in the school, sharing methodologies with the local teachers, following the learning path of the children and organizing workshops.
Moreover the volunteer will continue the project of fund raising for schools and centers for orphans and children from low income families, started by actual volunteers.
The teaching activities which will be carried out by the volunteer include the following branches of knowledge: 1) humanities, English language, mathematics etc., under the supervision of a local teacher, which will help the volunteers in getting familiar with the school and the kids; 2) computer program, wherein the volunteers will introduce the children to the world of computers; 3) environmental education and gardening; 4) sports and recreational activities; 5) organic agriculture; 6) music.
