After being 9 months in the Conca d’Oro the time has come to return to our home. However we have a problem now, because after this experience Palermo is now our home too, and we will never forget it.
Without further ado, this was my experience in the Sharing Solidarity project:
In my case, as a graduate in Pedagogy, I volunteered with CESIE supporting several associations: a nursery school for migrant families without resources, where I was able to help many children in their educational development; and also in two old people’s homes for adults with special needs, where I met many people who were good and friendly to everyone and also worked as an educational animator with a very good team.
In addition, we made two free trips to Rome to do two trainings with all the other volunteers who are for Italy, and we also participated in various workshops. But the most important thing was to live 9 months with wonderful people from different countries, with their cultures, and at the same time discovering Italian culture in all its forms together.
Overall, I can say that this was the best year of my life, where I learnt a lot and, of course, it is an experience that everyone should have at least once in their life.
Forza Palermo!!!
