Mindful eating, seasonal food and community

On Tuesday, 21 October 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the Borgo Danilo Dolci in Trappeto will be a place for meeting, sharing scents and stories. It’s a chance to rediscover the table as a place for relationships, memories and the future.

Lunch at Borgo” comes from the wish to connect people around the values of mindful eating and seasonal food, reminding us that every daily action, even the easiest, can help make the world more sustainable and inclusive.

We’ll start with a welcome and introduction about GBS project by CESIE ETS, which helps older people try new experiences in the green business sector, enhancing their skills and passions through inclusion and wellbeing programmes.

Afterwards, hands and flavours will join together in a cooking workshop where participants will prepare traditional pasta with sardines, an authentic symbol of Sicilian gastronomic culture and the richness of the sea around Trappeto.

Then, we’ll share the outcomes gained with the GBS project, opening a space for chatting about new chances to get involved and ideas that might pop up over a plate of pasta and a shared meal.

The day will go on with a group discussion about the experience, and we’ll end with a social lunch, where food will once again be a bridge linking people, communities, and dreams of a more cohesive and mindful society.

It is an invite to regain the pleasure of slowness, authentic flavours, and participation. Because when the table becomes a road, it opens a path that unites.
