Cloe – The city and the exchanges
Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Arci Tavola Tonda at Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa we will tell the story of Cloe, one of Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities.
The event is free!
“In Cloe, big city, the people who walk on the streets do not know each other”. They live on fleeting glances, imagination and fantasies, vibrations. We will try to relive these exchanges using movement, music, painting and words, in a multimedia performance that tries to restore some of the plurality of Calvino’s multifaceted images.
Invisible Cities, as Calvino himself says, is a discussion of the modern city, it is “a dream that comes from the heart of unlivable cities,” a “love poem to cities at a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to experience them as cities.”
This performance comes at the conclusion of the Fusion of Art and Education project, which aims to create bridges between the world of art and the world of education, and is in continuity with The Duende Dance Creative-Expressive Workshop built around the same text by Calvino in March 2022. The theme we feel the urgency to address is that of the relationship between the individual and the urban and social space, which has been radically transformed by two years of pandemic and isolation, with significant consequences on the mental health of many people.
