It came to an end the project “Raising the Rights of Elderly People and Elderly Care Services to the EU Standards”, co-financed by the “Civil Society Dialogue between EU and Turkey-III” programme.
From the 4th to the 6th of November, it took place in Ankara (Turkey)the final partnership meeting and the study visit.
The representatives from the partners’ organisation had the chance to visit different care centres for elderly. One of those was the nursing home of YÖRTÜRK Foundation – coordinator of the project.
During the visit, partners debated with local institutions about relevant Turkish policies and legislations on elderly rights and care services for elderly.
The project’s results has been presented during the final conference, which was attended by the Ministry of EU policies and the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and by operators from nursing homes and different organisations active in the field of elderly care.
One of the the project’s result was a book containing a comparative study about elderly rights and policies in Turkey, Italy and Spain.
Moreover, the conference gave the opportunity to show and debate about the good practices learnt during study visits carried out in Italy (Palerme), Spain (Girona) and Germany (Hamburg).
Finally, it’s worth of not the presentation of EUROCARERS network, which is the European network representing informal carers and their organisations.
Therefore, this final meeting gave an excellent opportunity of evaluation and exchange about project’s results in view of recommendations to improve not only policies for elderly care but also policies to promote active ageing.
