Prepare employers to facilitate the access to the labor market for refugees whose legal status has been officially defined.

The Kick-off meeting of the project REST – Refugee Employment Support and Training – took place on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2017, hosted by the project coordinator Landkreis Kassel in Kassel, Germany.

The meeting brought together 8 partner organizations including:

The project REST, co-funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration fund (AMIF) of the European Commission, aims to contribute to the efficient management of migration flows, also to strengthen, develop and implement a common Union’s approach regarding asylum and immigration.

The project REST addresses one of the recent concerns about the integration of refugees into the labor market, as well as cross-cultural and psycho-social issues of refugees.  In this context, the project will develop and test a training course for human resource managers of different companies. The course will be organized in modules and will include practical exercises and activities online. 400 companies, 50 per partner country, will be involved in the testing phase.

The next step of the project REST is a research (including interviews and statistical data) on the refugees or asylum seekers employment situation in the companies in each partner country.

The next partnership meeting will be held in Roubaix in France, in July, hosted by Adice.
