EVS in Bulgaria: no hate speech and mobilisationCESIE is looking for 2 italian volunteers from 18 to 30 years volunteers for an EVS project.

The project will last 2 months, from April to May.

The hosting organization is The Infinite Opportunities Association based in Sofia, Bulgaria. It is an NGO established at the beginning of 2010 that is committed to youth work, active citizenship, promotion of non-formal education and encouraging young people to develop their social and creative potential for a better future for everyone.

The Association delivered a nation-wide youth training with a focus on similarities and differences of freedom of speech and hate speech. For example, they organised a photo exhibition at Sofia airport and run a website called Tolr@nce Platform with info, articles and links about antidiscrimination (www.ontolerance.eu).

The volunteers will have responsibilities and there will be three main area in which they will be involved:

  • Researching and contacting schools and universities across Bulgaria for planning and organizing street action in May 2016 as part of the No Hate Speech Campaign;
  • Creation of videos, badges, street art etc for the outdoor activities;
  • Delivering sessions and workshops for Bulgarian children and young people on on-line tolerance.

The costs of food, accommodation and local transport will be fully covered by the host organization. Furthermore, the volunteer will receive a monthly pocket money for personal expenses extra. Travel costs (go and back) are covered up to 275 Euros. Finally, the project provides a medical insurance.
