jobyes-evento-palermoBetween 5th and 9th October 2015 the Learning – training activity of Adult educators, organized in the frame of the JOB-YES! Choose a job not a dole project, took place in Palermo. The project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (Key Action2: Strategic Partnerships in adult education) of the European Commission, is implemented by a consortium of seven partner organizations (three CSO, Vocational competences center, two private organisations and Labour Exchange organisation) from Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, Italy and the UK.

The Project offers innovative solutions to foster integration of people with disadvantaged background and fewer opportunities into the labour market by the following actions:

1) upgrading their low soft skills coherent with the employment-related key competences: sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, social and civic competences, digital competences and learning to learn;

2) improving the quality of training provided by adult education organisations active in employment-related training in order to attract low-skilled people and motivate them to learn.

Thus, the project contributes to “Europe 2020” strategy to reach employment rate of 75% as well to achieve benchmark of 15% of learners’ participation in lifelong learning as defined in European agenda for adult learning.

The 5-days learning/training activity was organized in Palermo, by CESIE. This training was orginised to strengthen the capacities of Adult Education organizations’ active in the field of employment by empowering theirs staff to offer high quality ICT-based tailored learning opportunities for individual learners with disadvantaged background and fewer opportunities, based on developed within the project Innovative Model for Integration into Labour Market and Adult Education (AE) Organisation Modernisation Model.

The Programme covered such activities as:

  • Presentations of innovative models for adults educators;
  • Analysis of outcomes of the research of the needs of the disadvantaged learners to upgrade their soft skills coherent with employment-related competences;
  • Testing of Self-need analysis tool and Open Educational resources for upgrading learners’ low soft skills;
  • Round-table discussion: “How adult educators could facilitate learners to fulfill Self need analysis by using the developed online tool?”;
  • Development of the framework for the Knowledge portfolio for recording the results of learners’ self-need analysis, User guide for learners, e-Guidebook for AE organisation;
  • Analysis of the social media online tools for dissemination of project results: Facebook group for learners and  a group for adults′ educators in LinkedIn;
  • Workshops: “New role of trainer as a facilitator.  Applying reversed training methodology and flipped learning method within the Adult education organisation to strengthen  the learners’ participatory approach” and “How national social partnership could foster promotion of the developed innovative model at national level”;
  • Analysis of the capacities of AE organisations to implement innovative models based on innovative ICT-based methodologies.

At the end of training the internal evaluator – Kaunas Labour Exchange – provided feedback on the two developed models and orgnised an evaluation the training.

The 18 participants from all partner organisations acquired new Job-related, computer, organisational and social skills, which were described in individual Europass mobility documents of the participants. The closure of the training was finalised by presenting certificate of attendance and Europass mobility documents to adult educators.
