viper-fine-corso-bigOn 15th April 2015 the “Volunteers in Playwork” training of trainers course came to its end, in the framework of the ViPER project, funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme (Training of Innovation action) of the European Commission.

The 10 participants were able to attend the course in Italian and to look into depth at topics such as: children’s right to play, how play is vital for children’s growth and wellbeing, health and safety measures when working with children, how to include all children in a play situation.

Moreover, participants were able to apply some of the free play and scrap material notions during play opportunities they created within their centres. The results were excellent!

Thanks to this pilot phase, that is currently being implemented in other 6 European countries (UK, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal and Turkey), the course will be adapted and published at a European-wide level.

Next week we’ll begin with the learners’ training that will also be a chance for trainers to train others in the wonderful field of playwork.
