Tuesday September 24th 2013, at 5.30 pm at the Atelier Nuovo Montevergini in Palermo, the coordinating association “The Smile of the Child”, CESIE (European Centre of Studies and Initiatives) and the EAN (European Anti-bullying Network) partners will officially launch the European Anti-bullying Day campaign.
The aim is to draw the attention on the worrying size of this phenomenon in the EU societies, raising awareness on this issue through the establishment of a Day celebrating the struggle against bullying at a European level. Civil society will be invited to have an active role in this initiative, signing a public declaration to support concretely the fight against this worrying phenomenon.

The “European Anti-bullying Network” project is implemented by “The Smile of the Child” as coordinator and in cooperation with 16 partners from 12 EU Member States. It aims at establishing a European Anti-bullying Network that will better coordinate the anti-bullying initiatives at EU and national level and promote a common European policy against this phenomenon.
EAN project and the campaign event for the establishment of a European Anti-bullying Day are funded by the Daphne III Programme of the European Commission. The Daphne III Programme aims at contributing to the protection of children, young people and women against all forms of violence and attain a high level of health protection, well-being and social cohesion.
