On 10 October 2026, Palermo will once again host the Disability Pride parade, which this year will have the theme “Revolutionary Disabilities”: an invitation to view disability not as a condition to be cured, corrected or normalised, but as a force capable of challenging the way we imagine society, cities, relationships and the future.
Following the 2025 edition, which was dedicated to building a city founded on interdependence, mutual care and collective responsibility, Disability Pride Palermo continues its journey with a new keyword: revolution.
A revolution that begins with the bodies, experiences and voices of people with disabilities, but which concerns the entire community. Because building an accessible society means rethinking spaces, relationships and opportunities, taking into account the diversity of bodies and the ways in which people communicate, work, study, love and participate in community life.
It is within this vision that the Danilo Dolci Centre for Creative Development – ETS and CESIE ETS are supporting Disability Pride Palermo 2026 and its values of inclusion, accessibility, participation and self-determination, through an approach based on listening, the direct involvement of people and the creation of genuinely accessible spaces.
For years, we have been working at local, national and international levels to promote the rights, social inclusion and participation of people with disabilities through educational activities, training, community initiatives and international cooperation. This commitment stems from the need to recognise and remove the physical, cultural and social barriers that can limit full participation in community life.
Standing alongside Disability Pride Palermo therefore means supporting a vision of society in which disability is not a reason for exclusion, but part of human diversity, and in which people with disabilities play a leading role in decisions that affect them.
Disability Pride Palermo thus becomes a space to meet, participate, challenge stereotypes and discrimination, and continue to build a more accessible and inclusive city.
Nothing about us without us.
