The National Community of Practice is launched as part of the European WISER project – online event

The WISER project – Women-centred Interventions for Social Entrepreneurship Resilience, co-funded by the European Commission’s Asylum, Migration and Integration (AMIF) of the European Commission, aims to strengthen entrepreneurship among migrant women through training, mentoring, the creation of local hubs and the development of a Community of Practice (CoP) in each of the partner countries – Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Lithuania and Poland.

CoPs are spaces for multi-stakeholder discussion and collaboration, designed to stimulate dialogue between public bodies, third sector organisations, experts and entrepreneurs, with the aim of co-constructing more accessible, inclusive and sustainable local ecosystems.

In this context, the two Italian partners in the project – Programma integra (Rome) and CESIE ETS (Palermo) – are promoting the creation of the Italian CoP through two online meetings, aimed at enhancing and networking the experiences developed in their respective territories.

The detailed programme of the meetings will be shared with all participants shortly

During the meetings, the following will be presented and discussed:

• Participatory territorial practices developed in Palermo, based on community networks and grassroots mutualism practices;
• The integrated institutional model active in Rome, which promotes cooperation between public and private social entities (e.g. SUAM, Spazio Comune, the WISER Hub).

The objectives of the meetings are:

• To identify operational synergies and replicable good practices for the economic independence of women with a migrant background;
• To respond in a concrete way to the needs of migrant women entrepreneurs (e.g. bureaucracy, access to services, credit, training, networking);
• To launch the national Community of Practice, with a vision that goes beyond the duration of the project;
• To lay the foundations for shared proposals capable of influencing local and national policies.

International CoP in Brussels in February 2026

During the final event of the project, the transnational meeting of the WISER Community of Practice will be held in Brussels, bringing together partners and stakeholders from the various countries involved. It will be an opportunity to bring Italian experiences to a European context. During the national meetings, we will gauge the interest and willingness of participants to contribute their experience to this international dimension.
