What space for health for women with migrant backgrounds? Experiences and perspectives from support services

Are you a professional working in the social, healthcare, or third sector and engaged in supporting women with migrant backgrounds? Join the SIS-HUBS learning and exchange sessions!

The SIS-HUBS programme was created with the aim of strengthening the skills and capacities of professionals working with women and girls with migrant backgrounds, while also supporting women’s autonomy by providing useful tools to recognise, prevent, and address different forms of gender-based violence. The programme includes prevention activities, information sessions, and a specific focus on improving access to support services available in local communities.

In this context, during June and July, SIS HUBS is organising three training and exchange sessions for social workers, healthcare professionals, and local organisations working with women with migrant backgrounds.

The first two sessions will take place in person on 22 and 25 June at EPYC – European Palermo Youth Center (Via Pignatelli Aragona 42, Palermo), while the third session will be held online on 2 July.

Organised by CESIE ETS and Centro Penc, these events aim to strengthen dialogue between the social and healthcare sectors, facilitate the exchange of practices, experiences, and working tools, and encourage reflection on how to improve access to services and support pathways for women with migrant backgrounds, with particular attention to health, the prevention of gender-based violence, and the development of effective local networks.
