Discover the sites of Danilo Dolci: join the free HERITAS walks
16 and 27 April 2026 | Trappeto and Terrasini
After months of shared work with local stakeholders, businesses, educational communities, and associations, we are ready to take you off the page and into the places themselves.
The HERITAS experiential tourism walks are beginning, led by those who know the territory from the inside: the students of the Danilo Dolci Institute of Partinico.
A great chance to see the landscape in a new light.
Both itineraries are the result of a collaborative process across the three HERITAS community workshops.
Take part for free!
Thursday 16 April | Trappeto: in the footsteps of Danilo Dolci
Start at 9 AM from Borgo Danilo Dolci –via di Dio, Trappeto (PA)
(4 h)
The first walk takes us to Trappeto, tracing the legacy of Danilo Dolci and the initiatives that left a deep mark on this corner of Sicily.
This first itinerary will guide us through the symbolic sites of a season of struggle and change.
We will hear the story of the “reverse strike” directly from the fishing community of Trappeto, and walk alongside the women of the Libera Università Popolare through the town centre, up to the Borgo Danilo Dolci.
Monday 27 April| Terrasini: memory, resistance, and anti-mafia
Start at 9 AM from Radio Aut – Corso Vittorio Emanuele III n. 108, Terrasini (PA)
(4 h)
The second walk takes us to Terrasini, along an itinerary dedicated to the memory of the fight against the mafia and the figure of Peppino Impastato.
We will set off from Radio Aut and make our way to the Palazzo D’Aumale, uncovering the cultural heritage — tangible and intangible — that this place still holds.
The community itself will narrate the battles won over the years against the culture of silence: a collective, authentic, and necessary story.
