From education to rights: preventing Gender-Based Violence through support networks

Building relationships free from violence starts at school. Faced with growing challenges surrounding the relational dynamics of children and adolescents, a strong alliance between schools, institutions, and the local community is essential to co-design a future free from gender-based violence.

The 1st Technical Roundtable on Preventing Violence in Adolescent Relationships and Promoting Well-being at School marks the beginning of a series of three roundtable discussions aimed at strengthening the prevention of gender-based violence and harmful relationship dynamics in school settings, while promoting the psychological and relational well-being of students.

The event will bring together institutions, schools, local services, third-sector organisations, and experts to initiate a participatory process of co-creating recommendations on affective and sexual education as a prevention tool. Participants will have the opportunity to share needs, experiences, and good practices emerging from the local context.

The meeting, organised by CESIE ETS in collaboration with the Municipality of Palermo, will take place:

Why participate in

The process will continue with additional meetings in October 2026 and February 2027, with the aim of finalising the recommendations and defining a shared commitment at the local level.

This initiative is part of the activities of the European project “BOTTOM-UP TALKS – Preventing teen-dating and school-related gender-based violence and promoting psychological well-being from the bottom-up”, funded by the European Commission’s CERV programme.
