Evet2edu-Workshops-sul-corso-online_bigIn September 2014 three workshops titled “Open Educational Resources – open ideas”, were organized within the EVET2EDU project -Supporting Vocational Teachers and Trainers in E-learning (LLP- Leonardo-Transfer of Innovation). The workshops were primarily addressed to teachers involved in vocational training, in order to inform them of the opportunity to attend the e-learning session developed within the project.

The first workshop took place at the Technical Institute for Transport and Logistics “Gioeni Trabia” of Palermo, with about a hundred teachers and professors of the same institute attending. During the workshop, an introduction was made about the project, the course and the facilitator’s handbook. The headmaster showed interest to add the course in the school’s Moodle platform and to use it as a resource to improve teachers’ skills.

Another workshop was organized at CESIE office, in Palermo, with teachers and trainers from different schools and VET Institutions participating. Thanks to a smaller number of participants, the workshop was more focused on practical and concrete aspects through the use of some direct and specific course activities on the platform. The participants were divided in two groups and each of them had to create an e-tivity (online activity), using Padlet, a “virtual wall” where it is possible to share ideas, to give suggestions and contributions. Afterwards the outputs and the feedbacks of each group were shared, and the project eVET2EDU and the online of the course were finally introduced.

The workshops grab the attention and interest of the participants, achieving the expected results. We hope that as many teachers as possible will use the course, and that it will be integrated into regular educational offer from schools and VET Institutions, so that these new methodologies and tools for online teaching will be exploited.
