In Europe, structural racism, Afrophobia and hate speech continue to affect the daily lives and opportunities of people of African descent. In this context, education plays a vital role in recognising and combating stereotypes and discrimination, whilst fostering intercultural dialogue and creating more inclusive environments.
It is in response to these challenges that SONDER was created, an initiative that combines research, storytelling and training to highlight the experiences of Afro-European communities and promote greater awareness of the various forms of discrimination.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about and experiment with educational materials and tools developed as part of SONDER, through practical activities, interactive exercises and opportunities for discussion. The aim is to explore approaches and methodologies that can help to recognise and combat hate speech and Afrophobia in various educational contexts.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the proposed materials. By sharing experiences, observations and feedback, participants will be able to offer useful suggestions to make the tools more effective and applicable in educational practice.
Why take part
The workshop is aimed at education professionals, trainers, teaching staff, practitioners, activists, representatives of civil society and professionals interested in the issues of inclusion, anti-racism and combating discrimination.
An opportunity to share experiences and contribute, through feedback and observations, to improving the materials and developing educational practices that foster intercultural dialogue and the creation of a more inclusive and aware culture.
