{"id":75538,"date":"2020-01-15T11:08:38","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T10:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/?post_type=project&#038;p=75538"},"modified":"2024-03-12T10:16:44","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T09:16:44","slug":"3steps","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/3steps\/","title":{"rendered":"3STEPS &#8211; Fostering Education and Inclusion of disadvantages refugee and migrant learners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>The 3STEPS project intends to increase the chances of migrants and refugees to remain within the educational and vocational system of their host country by providing them basic skills as well as a stable grounding for further personal achievements.<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Context<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Migrants and refugees belong to the most disadvantaged groups within the educational systems of the European Union, since childhood they often don\u2019t have the same chances of personal development due to language barriers, lack of support and and less opportunities to access classes caused by competence based exam or residence permit as prerequisites for enrolment. In the Paris Declaration of 2015, European Ministers of Education have re-announced their commitment for an inclusive education as an important door opener of social inclusion, therefore migrants and refugees shall be helped to ensure their full participation in society, good education and transition to the labour market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-objectives\">Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implement 2 good practices: \u2018Basic Education Classes\u2019 and \u2018Tandem Now\u2019 to be introduced to partners countries\u2019 educational systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide classes on literacy, numeracy, language and digital skills for young migrants and refugees (15-25 years old)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement the \u2018Ethnic Role Model Mentors\u2019 (part of \u2018Tandem Now\u2019) to develop social and professional skills based on \u2018Basic Education Classes\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement a \u2018Blended Mentoring Approach\u2019 and set regional pools of mentors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-activities\">Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Desk research and need analysis for qualitative and inclusive education of migrants and refugees (national adaptation needs for implementation of the 2 best practices)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blended Training for teachers and trainers on intercultural competence, training attitude, how to work with the target group, identify mentors, prepare and match them; foster inclusion and shared values<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blended Training for Mentors on the above-mentioned topics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Draft a handbook for teachers and trainers; and another one for mentors\u2019 curriculum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resources\">Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/3steps-teachers-trainers-curriculum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Teachers &amp;Trainers Curriculum on how to address migrants and refugees in an educational context, providing creative and innovative ideas for teaching and learning<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/3steps-mentors-curriculum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Mentors Curriculum on how to become a good mentor and support young migrants and refugees in different aspects of their life<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/3steps-youth-curriculum\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Youth
