{"id":101897,"date":"2021-12-01T16:50:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T15:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/?post_type=project&#038;p=101897"},"modified":"2025-05-12T16:26:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T14:26:37","slug":"wecolead","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/wecolead\/","title":{"rendered":"#WeCoLead \u2013 Young Women&#8217;s Leadership for Collaborative Sustainable Communities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#WeCoLead is an innovative project based on the idea that young women are especially positioned to creatively and innovatively initiating processes to develop a sustainable new normal that is coped with gender equality and empowerment.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Context<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2020s and 2021s have been disruptive years in many ways: the COVID-19 epidemic has disrupted our economies, our mobility, and especially our livelihoods and health. But while many things have changed since the pandemic began, the threat of climate change has not. Indeed, recent years have seen worsening heat waves, ice loss, wildfires, floods and droughts around the world. In addition, prospects for gender equality may be set back by the pandemic. In this context, this project recognizes that sustainability is closely linked to the need to take concrete actions to erase economic, legal, social, and cultural discrimination between genders. It also recognizes that when it comes to economic recovery, employability and creating opportunities for all and future generations, we cannot forget environmental needs and the threat of climate change. In this regard, it is interesting to note that there is evidence that women's empowerment could mitigate the impact of economic growth through increased environmental resource efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-objectives\">Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is built on the core idea of promoting active citizenship, active participation, and building the sense of initiative of young women to explore their critical sense, build their resilience in face of crises, and boost their leadership potential, especially in connection to gender equality and sustainable and greener economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To empower young women to act as leaders in shaping the sustainable new normal and fighting against climate change;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To promote sustainable internationalization by empowering the EU to act as leader in matters of biodiversity conservation, sustainable practices, and sustainable action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"activities\">Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conducting a social media content analysis of selected posts with young women and representatives of organizations that support young women empowerment in order to transfer their insights into 5 reels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 public event with young women, supporting organisations and youth workers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transnational Training on the Toolkit to provide a step-by-step process with methodologies, theoretical modules and exercises to foster female empowerment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 local focus groups to test the content and resources of the e-booklet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"resources\">Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 Reels created by young women and 1 Cross-national analysis to prompt questioning of gender roles and oppressive narratives:<br \/>- <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/wecolead-analysis-social-media-content\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Analysis of social media content<\/a> (reels) and different posts made by young women.
