Join us for our four workshops on Forum theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed basic techniques, organised in the frame of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/greeninterculturality\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">GreenInterculturality<\/a> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Theatre of the Oppressed?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>theatre of the oppressed<\/strong> (TO) is a <strong>dramatic technique<\/strong> developed in the seventies by Brazilian playwright Augusto Boal, in Brasil first, and then in Europe. It is based on the Critical Pedagogy by Paulo Freire, where all people, no matter their age, background or situation, can teach and learn, be the owners of some knowledge, have the same right to speak, be heard, and propose options, contents, problems and solutions. TO is used to analyse power structures to identify abuses of power perpetrated and perpetuated systemically in our daily lives. By using the participants\u2019 experiences as core narratives to analyse the complexities of our own realities, this methodology allows us to search for and collectively create alternatives to conflicts that often prove difficult to resolve from an individual position. It is especially recommended for educators, those who work in the field of international cooperation and those working in areas with high rate of \u201cconflicts\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshops are organised in 4 afternoon meetings: <strong>5-8-12-15 November, from 3pm to 6pm<\/strong>, <strong>in Teatro Atlante located in Via della Vetriera, 23 - Palermo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who can join the workshops?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Italians or foreigners that want to experiment expressive and theatrical techniques;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everyone who is working with people with a migrant background;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everyone who wants to promote a more inclusive world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation is free, but availability is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Registration is required<\/strong>.
