The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply affected youth and their future prospects, showing the necessity to identify new opportunities to encourage their active engagement in the European democratic life and labour market, as well as to find again the right motivation to starting over from themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response to these needs, on March 18th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup> 2021<\/strong> the partnership of the CHIMES project<\/a><\/strong> - Competences, Citizenship and Inclusion through Music and Movement Education Solutions<\/em> gathered virtually for the first time to initiate a new two-year training path aiming at the development of both hard and soft skills<\/em> addressed to youth facing social and economic exclusion and\/or with migrant background<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The professionals of the Cultural and Creative Industries<\/strong> will be as well the protagonists of this project, being the representatives of a sector which has been severely affected by the measures to contain the spread of the pandemic, since they will provide the informal contexts<\/em> in which youth can acquire the visual and performance arts<\/em> related skills in order to encourage the engagement or re-engagement of young people in education, training and employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naturally, the project requires also the indispensable involvement of professionals in the field of education<\/strong> who usually work with these young people and who are looking for new strategies to prevent early school leaving and motivate young people to continue towards the achievement of their training and professional objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To this end, visual and\/or performance arts workshops<\/strong> will be organised in which young people will participate in order to develop skills which will subsequently be demonstrated in two local events<\/strong> and one transnational training event<\/strong>, which will take place in Portugal. Six audio\/video journals<\/strong> will be produced to document the entire artistic experience of young people over the course of the two years of the project and they will contribute to promoting the role of the cultural and creative industry in the field of education.
