How to foster the promotion of culture through school education? How can we rediscover the value of culture within our societies and involve the new generations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On May 24, 2021, the webinar of the Erasmus+ project ouRoute<\/strong> \u2013 Citizen-cultural heritage<\/a> was held, to discuss on the creation of a new generation of young ambassadors of culture, through teaching and education in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting was attended by 38 people, coming from the school (teachers and school managers) and from different cultural bodies and foundations active in the promotion of culture and in the rediscovery of the city heritage<\/strong>, both tangible and intangible, both urban and natural\/environmental. In this regard, the work of rediscovery of the city and of the ancient arts and crafts has been carried out by the young \"ouRouters\" of the IISS Alessandro Volta in Palermo (Italy), who selected and explored the key elements of the city's cultural heritage, providing a vision of the needs and expectations of key actors inside and outside the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The document \"The Citizen Cultural Heritage Strategy\"<\/strong> was presented, a final document drawn up by CESIE and with the collaboration of the Municipality of Palermo (Italy) and which summarizes the key points of a local and European strategy to be adopted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We therefore tried to outline the different elements of culture and how to distinguish the strategies and interventions<\/strong> to be implemented, with reference to 3 main actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The protection<\/strong>, conservation<\/strong> and valorisation<\/strong> should be encouraged in order to ensure the correct management of cultural heritage. We also talked about the relationship between school and territory, where the school promotes the knowledge and enjoyment of pupils through culture, so as to foster the process of integration and social inclusion. In fact, there are several initiatives and actions to encourage greater involvement of young people, with particular to the most vulnerable and at risk of dropping out of school. In this regard, the webinar represented an important moment of dialogue with local stakeholders (schools, public and municipal institutions, research institutes, cultural bodies and foundations), in order to promote a common action plan and sensitize the new generations<\/strong> to cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The safeguarding of cultural heritage, both local and European, once again affirms itself as a joint and shared priority of all partners in ouRoute from Italy, Portugal, Spain and Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Are you interested in learning more?
