At the end of April, the Intercultural Learning Path<\/strong> for some young students of the \u2018Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Einaudi-Pareto\u2019<\/em> in Palermo within the project SUPEER - Sustainable Integration Through Peer-to-Peer Support<\/a><\/strong> ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

22 young students from a fourth year graphic design class, coming from different cultural backgrounds, took part in a peer-to-peer learning process<\/strong> that allowed them to explore key issues related to culture and interculturality, as well as key issues for personal growth<\/strong> as aware and active citizens, with critical thinking and able to see diversity as an added value for our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course was developed over a month for a total of 6 meetings, during which the young people had the opportunity to discuss, confront each other and learn new things on topics such as active citizenship, social and cultural capital, peer learning and mentoring, youth empowerment, interculturality, multiculturality and intercultural communication<\/strong>, through an approach that allows for an open and free from judgments dialogue, but aimed at conscious and critical learning of fundamental concepts of today's society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young students immediately showed interest and involvement in the course, putting themselves on the line, making their opinions heard and at the same time showing themselves to be open to new knowledge and new points of view<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the course, the participating young students, in order to conclude this process of intercultural learning among peers, of co-creation and mutual socialisation and integration, autonomously organised themselves into small groups and, during the last meeting, using their newly acquired skills<\/strong> and their previous graphic skills, presented their idea of interculturality<\/strong>, showing what, according to their vision, is an example of interculturality and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SUPEER - Sustainable integration through Peer-to-Peer Support<\/a> project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2 - Strategic partnerships in the youth field and aims to facilitate sustainable social and educational integration among local young people and young people with a migrant background through an innovative peer-to-peer methodology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
