This topic was discussed at CESIE\u2019s first national seminar within the MoreThanAJob<\/a><\/strong> project, which was attended by over 100 representatives of local public administrations and Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) actors. The event promoted a participatory discussion on how the public and private sector can collaborate to build a strong and solid welfare system able to provide multidimensional integrated services<\/strong> to the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Several successful local initiatives were presented during the seminar with the aim of providing an overview of the existing services in support of social inclusion. It came out that synergies and networks between social and institutional actors are fundamental to facilitate the access of vulnerable people to local support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the case of the Agenzia sociale per la Casa<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>(trans., Social Housing Agency) of the municipality of Palermo, which managed to connect and link together different public and private interventions in support of vulnerable groups<\/strong>: along with housing and income support, disadvantaged people can benefit from education and employment services. Finally, it was presented the MoreThanAJob portal<\/strong><\/a>, an online platform aiming to foster dialogue and cooperation between SSE actors and public administrations. The portal is designed both for citizens, who can seek information on the services available in their areas, and SSE organisations, that can find many opportunities to collaborate with other realities for the co-design and implementation of new services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The experiences shared and the results of the meeting were a further confirmation of the importance of opportunities of encountering that can create synergies between the various services offered and systemise the various interventions so as not to dissipate the different energies, on the one hand, and to provide an integrated offer that responds better to the citizens\u2019 needs, on the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For more information on the following project activities and to have more information on it, please write an e-mail to giulia.tarantino@cesie.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n MoreThanAJob \u2013 Reinforcing social and solidarity economy for the unemployed, uneducated and refugees<\/a> is a project funded by the European Union under ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme. Similarly, PRISMA<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>project, led by the region of Sicily, gathered all the local services targeted to third country nationals, creating several access points where people with migrant background can seek advice and help.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the projects Dappertutto<\/strong><\/a> <\/em>and Varcare la Soglia,<\/strong><\/a> provided socio-educational assistance, guidance and counselling to children and families experiencing poverty.
