Happy anniversary AROSE! Our project on English language teaching has just celebrated its first year of implementation and its activities are becoming even more engaging.<\/p>\n
Started in October 2019, AROSE aims at reflecting on English teachers\u2019 practice and providing a better understanding of oral skills assessment models for students of English as a foreign language. According to partners, improving the oral English skills of students in upper secondary schools is crucial, however – in order to reach such goal – it is necessary to create a feasible assessment model which would help English teachers improve their skills.<\/p>\n
Despite the challenges connected to COVID 19 pandemic, AROSE partners are now working on finalising a repository of OERs created and shared by the teachers from the schools participating in the project. The aim is to improve teaching and assessment of English oral skills among upper secondary school students. These resources will be then uploaded on a digital platform set up considering the suggestions given by English teachers who are the motor of AROSE.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Casa do Professor is working on a survey aimed at analysing the learning needs of English language teachers working in schools. Those results will be used so as to create a training course that would allow them to discover and get familiar with key concepts in the field of English Language Teaching and Assessment.<\/p>\n
