How to foster migrants\u2019 inclusion into the tourism sector? What are their learning needs in order to do so?<\/p>\n
These and other questions the TOUR2INCLUDE project will be answering the during its two-year lifetime. It aims to establish an innovative approach with the intention to support migrant learners who would like to work in the tourism sector to acquire the necessary professional and soft skills. In order to do so, the project focuses on targeted training opportunities which will offer better career perspectives to migrants away from undeclared work and socio-economic marginalization.<\/p>\n
On 11th<\/sup> June 2020 the Tour2Include Consortium held the 2nd<\/sup> Transnational Partner Meeting. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting, originally planned in Pescara \u2013 Italy, took place online on the basis of a detailed agenda shared and agreed by all partners.<\/p>\n At the meeting partners focused on the results of the initial research regarding tourism-related professions where migrants are mostly occupied as well as the necessary skills to work in the sector. Furthermore, the online meeting was very important to define the next steps. Partners discussed on the implementation of the upcoming activities, which are aimed at delivering a prior learning assessment approach, in order to evaluate migrants\u2019 actual skills and competencies connected to the tourism sector and uncover possible skill gaps. This will allow for the development of tailored training programmes, in order to better prepare migrants wanting to work in the tourism sector.
