The purpose of the project GEM IN is to support intercultural education at school and in non-formal youth environment, to be a vehicle to foster a multicultural approach to education and learning, enhancing social inclusion, promoting cross-cultural dialogue and active citizenship by promoting European shared values.<\/p>\n
The project intends to provide inputs and policy recommendations for intervention strategies to promote intercultural education and active citizenship through an innovative educational framework.\u00a0 It wants to promote intercultural education as key lever to enhance the acquisition of social and civic competences and to promote the ownership of shared values. This is possible also thanks to the methodological approach, core of the project: creative thinking <\/strong>and learning by playing<\/strong> are the pillars which the idea of the game is built on, making it a tool of social and cultural growth.<\/p>\n Behind GEM IN there\u2019s the idea that learning by playing is a wonderful approach, complementary to the classic, formal education and that it is in young age that we learn to express ourselves, and to explore the world. These activities, aligned with curiosity, make schools and educational environments some of the most influential contexts for the development of creativity. For this reason is fundamental that schools and non-formal educational environments are prepared to foster and develop youngsters\u2019 creativity in order to empower younger generation and prepare them for the future.<\/p>\n There is awareness regarding the difficulty that schools might face: they are not always equipped or it might be not easy to have a sufficient standard to work on creativity for the lack of tools, for difficult situation in the classroom among students, for economic and social reason, but this is not to be considered a limit, instead we are working on tools, the boardgame and the digital archive, that are simple, accessible, ready to use and valuable for the teachers to teach in a different and engaging way.<\/p>\n GEM IN<\/a> \u2013 Game to EMbrace INtercultural education is a 24 months project cofunded by ERASMUS+ KA3, Support for Policy Reform, Social inclusion through education, training and youth.<\/p>\n Read more about the project<\/a>.<\/p>\nAbout the project<\/h2>\n
