{"id":83747,"date":"2020-07-24T11:13:11","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T09:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/?p=83747"},"modified":"2025-07-29T15:44:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T13:44:23","slug":"creativity-steam-gender-gap-primary-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/school\/creativity-steam-gender-gap-primary-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Creativity and STE(A)M approach reducing the gender gap from the primary school"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Partners in&nbsp;<strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>IN2STEAM: Inspiring Next Generation of Girls through Inclusive STE(A)M Learning in Primary Education\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong>attended the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;online meeting (July 21th, 2020) to discuss the last results from the \u201cIO1 \u2013 Report on the Value of STE(A)M in Girls\u2019 Education\u201d and the development of online training modules OER for teachers dealing with STEM in primary education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main aim of the IN2STEAM project is to enhance&nbsp;<strong>innovative and gender inclusive educational approaches<\/strong>&nbsp;that integrates STE(A)M learning (applying A= art and design principles to science) especially for female students, by reducing the gender gap in scientific career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For that purpose, partners will analyse how arts combines with STEM and how STEM can be also based on the artistic creative process and idea. The creative process is therefore linked to the development of both cognitive skills (such as critical thinking) and social skills (including interpersonal skills, the so-called \u201csoft skills\u201d). To conclude, we will provide some<strong>&nbsp;tips and recommendations<\/strong>&nbsp;for teachers on how to manage their classroom orchestration and&nbsp; creating dynamic learning environments by combining both traditional and STE(A)M approaches.
