How can we increase adult learners\u2019 employability<\/strong> with innovative and practical skill assessment tools<\/strong> in career guidance?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The INCLUSIVE+ consortium has officially finished the development on the project\u2019s first output, namely the Skill-assessment cards for low-skilled adults<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feedback<\/strong> on the skill assessment cards was highly positive<\/strong> in all five countries. Both adult learners and career guidance professionals engaged actively and showed strong interest in using them<\/strong> in their daily activities. In fact, two of the Italian institutions, in which the sessions were held, already implemented the piloting version of the cards with other adult learners after the end of the piloting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both, professionals and adult learners perceived the created tool as a useful and practical instrument<\/strong>, which fosters the reflection on \u2018hidden\u2019 competences, the discovering of strengths instead of weaknesses as well as helping to increase adult learners\u2019 self-esteem<\/strong> in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Italian context<\/strong>, it has become clear that the developed sets of skill assessment cards also have great potential<\/strong> to be implemented in order to foster the labour market integration<\/strong>, not only of locals<\/strong> from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, but also migrants<\/strong> with a similar educational level. These adult learners often have gathered a lot of informal work experience<\/strong>, which can be \u2018translated\u2019 into soft and hard skills<\/strong> to be put into their curriculum, using the skill-assessment cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the piloting, the\u00a0INCLUSIVE+ skill-assessment cards<\/a>\u00a0for low-skilled adults have been\u00a0finalised based on the received feedback<\/strong>\u00a0gathered in the various countries. They can be found in\u00a0CESIE\u2019s Digital Library<\/strong>. Furthermore, a\u00a0Transnational Piloting Report<\/a>\u00a0has been created, summing up the results from the national piloting, which has also been uploaded in\u00a0CESIE\u2019s Resources page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the\u00a0first half of 2020<\/strong>, the partnership will dedicate itself to the\u00a0adaption and national testing<\/strong>\u00a0of another innovative methodology for career guidance professionals, named\u00a0Career Circles<\/strong>. This process will be accompanied by the\u00a0development of a user guide<\/strong>, facilitating the methodology\u2019s implementation for people working towards labour market inclusion of adult learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
