Current statistics have shown that the percentage of migrants neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET) has increased over the past years, particularly among the ones born outside the EU. In addition to that, especially migrants and refugees with a low educational level are often exposed to worse working conditions and exploitation, partly forced into illegal work for the lack of adequate trainings or validation of previous work experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Latest statistics proves that the migrant labour demand is not only concentrated on the high skilled workers, but the demand for low skilled sectors such as cleaning or caring jobs is becoming more and more important. The\u00a0Migrants Take Care<\/a>\u00a0project aims at enhancing the social inclusion of people with a migrant background, from a low educational level and with particular difficulties in accessing the labour market, through trainings tailored to their needs for cultural, communication and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the 14th<\/sup> and 15th<\/sup> of November, we met for the first time in Usurbil, Spain. This first meeting has given us the opportunity to get to know each other and to discuss the first steps of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The project foresees the development of a Training Toolkit for migrants in the home and residential care service sector<\/strong>, which will include skills assessment, technical and cultural and work-based language tools. The toolkit will be tailored to the needs of individual low-qualified migrants in order to enhance their key competences in the care service sector as well as their literacy, numeracy and digital competences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Along with the toolkit, we will develop an Online Handbook for institutions and care service providers on supporting migrants to access the care providers\u2019 careers.<\/strong> The handbook will aim at developing an online guideline for institutions and care services providers to support them in recruiting migrant workers and fostering their inclusion process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This tool will include information on: national legal procedures to recruit migrants in each partner country; work permits and national administrative procedures; legal procedures to certificate foreign experiences of migrant workers; success stories and best practices on trainings for migrants, handling discrimination at workplace and resolving communication problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Migrants Take Care <\/a>is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2: Strategic Partnership for adult education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The project involves 6 partner organisations from 5 different countries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Read more about the project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAbout the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
