How to handle diversity in your work environment or daily life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The WELCOMM<\/a> partners met in Palermo on 11th and 12th February 2019 and worked on the development of the upcoming trainings to improve awareness and build capacities of professionals\/ practitioners\/ activists and volunteers in host communities<\/strong> regarding the intercultural sensitivity & competence and thereby facilitate the inclusion of third-country nationals<\/strong>. The trainings will take place in the upcoming months in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the days of the meeting, the participants confronted with\u00a0the asylum seekers\u2019 situation and the effect of the newly introduced policies<\/strong>, by conducting a series of study visits in the city. They had the chance to hear from the founders of\u00a0Moltivolti<\/a>\u00a0about\u00a0good practices of collaboration and co-creation among a diverse group of people with different cultural background<\/strong>\u00a0in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Palermo, Ballar\u00f2. Moreover, they visited\u00a0Arci Porco Rosso<\/a>\u00a0 where they confronted with the reality that activists face daily with the current migration, reception and inclusion policies that are being implemented in Italy. Both visits provided the opportunity to\u00a0reflect and raise awareness on the current European situation on the topics of asylum, migration and inclusion<\/strong>\u00a0as well as, useful considerations regarding the next steps of the project to\u00a0reassure its effectiveness and adaptability in local contexts<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moreover, partners discussed the development of the online Community of Practice<\/strong> that is involved in the activities aimed to strengthen the mutual learning and exchange between host communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Both\u00a0intercultural sensitivity<\/strong>\u00a0training<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0on line \u2018Community of Practice\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0will be integrated in the\u00a0WELCOMM platform<\/a>\u00a0in the following months.
