In the first days of July\u00a0VOICES<\/a>\u00a0festival was held in Palermo with\u00a0colours, costums and art that spread a collective reflection about freedom, democracy and welcoming.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 6th of July, the\u00a0Boderline<\/a>\u00a0performance of\u00a0Patricia Carolin Mai and Jakob Neubauer<\/strong>\u00a0was organised at Biblioteca Comunale Casa Professa, that\u00a0explored personal and institurional limits<\/strong>. The reflection, so, it was focused on\u00a0freedom of movement and mobility rights<\/strong>\u00a0in a society that builds borders and walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 11th<\/sup>\u00a0July,\u00a0200 people performed in a\u00a0parade<\/a>\u00a0the idea of welcoming<\/strong>. It was an opportunity of sharing and reflection on migration issue. The parade was built on steps related to the arriving by sea, the bureaucracy in the asylum determination process, the fake refugee images that are being used to distort public opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prejudices and sterotypes had been overcome giving a vision of a multicultural society where different cultures can coexisted and mixed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the parade, at Complesso Monumentale di Santa Maria dello Spasimo the story performance\u00a0ONE TABLE (AND FIVE CHAIRS, OR ACTUALLY SIX)<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Artestudio<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0BEHIND THE WALL<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0Teatro Radu Stanca<\/a>\u00a0took on the stage the search of balance based on a\u00a0metaphor of \u201ctable- world\u201d and \u00a0non-verbal monologues based on<\/strong>\u00a0thoughts, ideas, feelings, and conditions, taken out of\u00a0interviews with refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, and Romania.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
