{"id":54292,"date":"2018-07-27T16:36:26","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T14:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/research\/sagesse-new-measures-for-the-improvement-of-the-higher-education-in-tunisia\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T15:10:29","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T13:10:29","slug":"sagesse-new-measures-for-the-improvement-of-the-higher-education-in-tunisia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/higher-education-and-research\/sagesse-new-measures-for-the-improvement-of-the-higher-education-in-tunisia\/","title":{"rendered":"SAGESSE: New measures for the improvement of the Higher Education in Tunisia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How to support&nbsp;<strong>managerial and academic staff of Tunisian universities&nbsp;<\/strong>in&nbsp;<strong>developing skills<\/strong>&nbsp;about&nbsp;<strong>governance, financial management and quality assessment<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second meeting of project\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/sagesse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>sAGESSE \u2013 Improving Governance in the Higher Education system in Tunisia<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was held in Paris in the Paris1 \u2013 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne University on the 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0July 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SAGESSE aims to support the process of&nbsp;<strong>reform and modernisation<\/strong>&nbsp;undertaken by the&nbsp;<strong>Higher Education Institutions of Tunisia<\/strong>&nbsp;in connection with the post revolution national change, by means of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>improvement of the governance mechanisms<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>elaboration of\u00a0<strong>new procedures for financial management<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>implementation of the\u00a0<strong>quality assurance and control systems within the Higher Education Institutions<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>knowledge and tools enhancement for management, administrative and academic staff<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting partners have been introduced with the first results of the&nbsp;<strong>state-of-art analysis of the mechanisms for governance and quality assurance in Tunisian universities<\/strong>. During the meeting, focus groups with the Presidents, Vice-Presidents, General Secretaries and other representatives of the Tunisian universities have been organised to collect contribution for the finalisation of the research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research will provide a need-analysis of the staff responsible for quality assurance and strategic planning which will be the basis for the&nbsp;<strong>Train-the-trainers event which will took place in Siena from the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;to the 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of December.<\/strong>&nbsp;Participants from Tunisia to the event will be responsible for sharing the acquired knowledge and skills to other managers and administrative staff within their institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the next months partnership will proceed with defining contents and working methodologies for training and will start setting up the study visits for the staff&nbsp;responsible for&nbsp;financial management in Tunisian universities to the financial and quality assurance departments in the universities of Barcelona, Paris1 and Rome \u201cLa Sapienza\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/sagesse\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SAGESSE<\/a>&nbsp;is a project funded within the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eacea.ec.europa.eu\/erasmus-plus\/actions\/key-action-2-cooperation-for-innovation-and-exchange-good-practices\/capacity-0_en\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Erasmus+, Capacity Building in the field of higher education<\/a>. Capacity-building Projects are&nbsp;<strong>transnational cooperation<\/strong>&nbsp;projects based on multilateral partnerships, primarily between higher education institutions (HEIs) from Programme
