{"id":54202,"date":"2018-06-29T12:14:18","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T10:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/school\/individual-learning-and-peer-support-in-symfos-career-guidance-approach\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T11:05:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T09:05:25","slug":"individual-learning-and-peer-support-in-symfos-career-guidance-approach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/school\/individual-learning-and-peer-support-in-symfos-career-guidance-approach\/","title":{"rendered":"Individual learning and peer support in SymfoS career guidance approach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it possible to&nbsp;<strong>improve the system of scholastic and professional orientation<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>supporting educators and teachers<\/strong>&nbsp;working with&nbsp;<strong>disadvantaged young people<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In almost two years of implementation of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/symfos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SymfoS project<\/a>\u00a0<strong>a significant number of professionals have been trained and are now regularly conducting counselling sessions using SymfoS education and career guidance approach<\/strong>. This work has been fully documented in manuals describing the basic approach of SymfoS and single methods used, while new tools are under development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the\u00a0<strong>4\u00b0 Transnational Project Meeting<\/strong>, hosted in the new premises of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bmunjob.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Ballymun Job Center<\/a>\u00a0(Dublin), the 17th and 18th June 2018, the consortium discussed these successes and the next important steps of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first day of the meeting the partners presented the project implementation progresses in each country and how SymfoS methodology has been integrated in their daily business. Progresses on main intellectual output has also been made and presented. Among all:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.symfos.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">SymfoS Training Platform and virtual trainer network<\/a><\/em>\u00a0has been upgraded and new functionalities introduced: it is already possible to read the profiles of the international SymfoS trainers and<strong>\u00a0soon a forum and training area will be officially launched<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The partners exchanged also their experience collected and presented in the Concept note\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/symfos-concept-note\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">IO5: Methodology for individual learning and career pathways, supported by peers or buddies<\/a><\/em><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0The methodology (with national specifications) developed a practical step in the guidance process using a more\u00a0<strong>holistic approach of peer support<\/strong>, in keeping with the SymfoS ethos. The manual is available for download in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/caminos-lab.eu\/symfos\/it\/angebote\/downloads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Results page of SymfoS platform<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the workshop on&nbsp;<strong>Transfer Handbook for SymfoS-Methodology<\/strong>&nbsp;and project sustainability. The partners shared the lessons learned from the implementation of SymfoS methodology in each organisation and discussed how to transfer this experience to other organisations and institutions in the education and career guidance sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reflections shared during the workshop will be integrated in a key document for the project: the&nbsp;<strong><em>Transfer Handbook for SymfoS-Methodology<\/em><\/strong>.
