We looked at adhesion and cohesion forces and electricity. We observed the curiosity of children, the interest of parents, teachers, and educators in science and we discussedwhy is it important to&nbsp;<strong>promote science education from the early years education<\/strong>&nbsp;and which&nbsp;<strong>methodologies<\/strong>&nbsp;can be applied by teachers and educators in their daily work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of this and more happened on the 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of June 2018 during the\u00a0<strong>final event<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>project SciLit<\/strong>\u00a0entitled\u00a0<strong>\u201cBringing children closer to science\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong>The eventwas held at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Centro-Internazionale-delle-Culture-Ubuntu-268827235321\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Centro Internazionaledelle Culture Ubuntu<\/a>\u00a0bringing together children from different nationalities, their parents, educators, teachers and\u00a0 students and letting them to discover the secrets of science education and what we cannot see with our eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activities and methods that were demonstrated during the event were outputs of the SciLit project.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/scilit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SciLit - Scientific literacy at the school: improving strategies and building new practices of science teaching in early years education<\/a>, a project that is co-funded by Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership for School Education, developed\u00a0<strong>innovative tools<\/strong>\u00a0to facilitate the teaching of science in\u00a0<strong>early years education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SciLit project is at its&nbsp;<strong>final stage<\/strong>..The project team met in Gijon, Spain on the 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of June 2018 for the last project meeting to reflect on the discoveries and achievements during 2 years of the project. We discovered the science education, we learnt about the need to stimulate the&nbsp;<strong>interest of children<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>early age<\/strong>, about the situation across Europe in preparing teachers and educators to teach science in schools, and not only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of us, project partners, were trained by the project coordinator how to use<strong>&nbsp;innovative methods to teach science<\/strong>&nbsp;considering the needs and developments of each child. Project partners from Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, and Spain adapted and tried novel methodologies at their own kindergartens and schools. All those discoveries, models, methods and achievements were collected and presented in the final&nbsp;<strong>SciLit project outputs<\/strong>, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201c<em>Scientific literacy at school: a proposal of a new methodology<\/em>\u201d - Guide for policy makers, scientists, education professionals and national, regional and local authorities involved in science education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201c<em>Scientific literacy at the school. An inquiry about What is the world made of?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0- Classroom materials for teaching\u00a0natural sciences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201c<em>Scientific literacy at the school.
