How to set the stage for a successful season<\/strong> of hotels<\/strong>, restaurants<\/strong> and other enterprises in hospitality<\/strong> and tourism<\/strong>? How to improve their customer service<\/strong>? How to boost the productivity and motivation of their staff<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success in tourism and hospitality business is strongly dependent on the\u00a0quality of customer services<\/strong>\u00a0and clients\u2019 satisfaction. To provide high standard service\u00a0competent and motivated employees<\/strong>\u00a0are essential. However, maintaining the quality during\u00a0high season<\/strong>\u00a0might be challenging even in the best teams. In summer months, the number of guests grows and employers have to react by recruiting additional seasonal staff to cover the increased demand. Employees hired for the peak season only \u2013\u00a0seasonal staff<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 have to catch up with the pace of work, learn all tasks and adapt to the new working environment in\u00a0very short time<\/strong>\u00a0and often under stressful circumstances. Seasonal employees therefore usually don\u2019t receive sufficient training which results in lower productivity and motivation and leads to the risk of declined service quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SeasonReady<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0project intends to\u00a0support the competitiveness<\/strong>\u00a0of enterprises in tourism and hospitality by providing a\u00a0work-based learning<\/strong>\u00a0programme designed to improve professional competences and motivation of seasonal staff. The training programme will be tailored to the needs of employers and seasonal workers respecting their preferences and\u00a0regional contexts<\/strong>. The training will provide in-house trainers with the skills and techniques to train their seasonal workforce in three key areas \u2013\u00a0front-line operations<\/strong>,\u00a0food and beverages services<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0housekeeping<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 22nd<\/sup> and 23rd<\/sup> May 2018, partners of the project met in Palermo where they shared the research results and discussed the framework and content of SeasonReady training programme for seasonal staff in tourism and hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
