How do they&nbsp;<strong>use digital tools for participation<\/strong>? How to reach those living in remote areas and those who are not seeking for information?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are some of the questions raised during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/youth\/youthmetre-final-conference-digital-tools-to-foster-youth-engagement-in-policy-making\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Final Conference<em>\u00a0<strong>Structured Dialogue: the use of digital tools to foster youth engagement in policy-making<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, held the 24<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of April 2018 at the Committee of the Regions (Brussels, Belgium) and organised in the frame of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/youthmetre\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">YouthMetre<\/a>\u00a0project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference opened with speeches from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yoomi Renstr\u00f6m, Member of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cor.europa.eu\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Committee of the Regions<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Antonella Valmorbida, Secretary General of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alda-europe.eu\/newSite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">ALDA<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Karl Donert, Project Coordinator of the project\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/youthmetre.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">YouthMetre<\/a>\u00a0and President of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurogeography.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">EUROGEO<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then two panels comparing different perspectives regarding the use of digital tools for youth engagement in policymaking followed showing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Institutional Stakeholders\u2019 perspective\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0<strong><em>forward-looking tools<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for youth empowerment and current developments and challenges on youth active participation in democratic life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Practitioners\u2019 perspective<\/strong>, who presented existing practices and successful experiences on the use of e-tools for youth participation and their future perspectives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the first panel contributed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Casba Borboly, Member of the Committee of the Regions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emilian Pavel, Member of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">European Parliament<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alessandro Senesi, Deputy Head of Unit at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">DG EAC<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Davide Capecchi, Research and Policy Officer at the Partnership between the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">European Commission<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/portal\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Council of Europe<\/a>\u00a0in the field of youth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>St\u00e9phanie Nowakowski, Project Officer at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebij.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Bureau International Jeunesse<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wout Van Caimere, Coordinator of the Youth Intergroup of the European Parliament.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EU institutions respond to the need of more youth engagement through<\/strong>&nbsp;two main tools: the&nbsp;<strong>Structured Dialogue<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Erasmus Plus Programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Mr. Alessandro Senesi stated this is a crucial moment where it is important to link the ongoing debate and what happens at the level of the local authorities with the future of the youth policy, the preparation of the new Erasmus Plus Programme and the new European Youth Strategy.
