{"id":53997,"date":"2018-05-02T09:18:45","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T07:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/news\/sofie-support-social-interaction-of-migrants-asylum-seekers-and-refugees\/"},"modified":"2025-06-19T10:11:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T08:11:04","slug":"sofie-support-social-interaction-of-migrants-asylum-seekers-and-refugees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/news\/sofie-support-social-interaction-of-migrants-asylum-seekers-and-refugees\/","title":{"rendered":"SOFIE: Support social interaction of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How to\u00a0<strong>effectively sustain migrants, asylum seekers and refugees social inclusion<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which tools can be useful to&nbsp;<strong>promote professional, social and cultural integration of their families<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On April 4th and 5th, the&nbsp;<strong>second international meeting<\/strong>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/sofie\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SOFIE<\/a>&nbsp;project took place in Uppsala (Sweden).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, the consortium dealt with some major topic such as project management, monitoring and dissemination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, the partners analysed the&nbsp;<strong>research results of IO1<\/strong>: it aims to identify and understand the&nbsp;<strong>needs and challenges of newly arrived asylum seekers, migrants, refugees&nbsp;<\/strong>in European countries,&nbsp;<strong>the training needs of volunteers working with them<\/strong>&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;<strong>best practices of social inclusion processes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, we discussed about the future outputs in detail. These will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>curriculum course for mothers and children<\/strong>: it will focus on fostering language skills and integration of refugee families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SOFIE online tool and platform<\/strong>: it will inform newly arrived asylum seekers, migrants and refugees where to find the closest support for different relevant sectors such as educational institutions, childcare centres and legal support offices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>curriculum for trainers training<\/strong>: it will allow trainers to improve technical and didactical learning to better support the target group in order to empower them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>guide for best practice for buddying\/mentoring by volunteers<\/strong>: it will give recommendations for organisations and trainers on how to prepare volunteers working with arrived asylum seekers, migrants and refugees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/sofie-interazione-sociale-rifugiati-1.jpg\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/sofie-interazione-sociale-rifugiati-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53998\" style=\"width:570px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/sofie-interazione-sociale-rifugiati-1.jpg 940w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/sofie-interazione-sociale-rifugiati-1-480x402.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 940px, 100vw\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/sofie\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SOFIE \u2013 Support for empowerment and integration of refugee families<\/a>\u00a0is a European project funded by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/opportunities-for-organisations\/innovation-good-practices\/strategic-partnerships_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Erasmus+: Key Action 2, Strategic Partnership in the field of Adult education<\/a>.
