{"id":53979,"date":"2018-04-27T11:09:48","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T09:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/school\/scilit-in-international-conference-new-perspectives-in-science-education\/"},"modified":"2025-06-19T10:15:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T08:15:26","slug":"scilit-in-international-conference-new-perspectives-in-science-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/school\/scilit-in-international-conference-new-perspectives-in-science-education\/","title":{"rendered":"SciLit in International Conference New Perspectives in Science Education"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How to promote&nbsp;<strong>science teaching in early years education<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 7th Edition of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conference.pixel-online.net\/NPSE\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">International Conference \u201cNew Perspectives in Science Education\u201d<\/a>\u00a0brought together experts from\u00a0<strong>36 countries to Florence<\/strong>\u00a0(Italy) to discuss about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>challenges in\u00a0<strong>science education<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>best practices<\/strong>\u00a0on stimulating the interest among students in science;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ideas and expertise about\u00a0<strong>preparing science teachers to<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>teach science<\/strong>\u00a0in diverse and multicultural classrooms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CESIE<\/strong>&nbsp;working to promote the study of science and to support a positive image of science education was present at the conference. With the aim to improve public knowledge on science education and foster interest in the field we presented our work through the paper&nbsp;<strong><em>Introducing Science Teaching in Early Years Education: Practical Insights of SciLit Project<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/scilit\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>SciLit<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is based on the consideration that&nbsp;<strong>science teaching is a basis for the overall development of the child<\/strong>&nbsp;as well as a fundamental element in the&nbsp;<strong>scientific literacy<\/strong>, therefore training and innovative materials to support teachers to deliver high quality science education are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/scilit\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>SciLit<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0project brings together scientists, educators and experts in the non-formal education field, not only to transmit scientific knowledge, but also to discuss and investigate how to present this knowledge in early education paying attention to the needs and psychological developments of children. As so, the paper describes SciLit project objectives, rationale, state of the art of science education and introduces project\u2019s main outputs.
