How can be refugees<\/strong> successfully integrated in labour market<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

What are the benefits<\/strong> of employing refugees for wide society, labour market and single organisations?<\/p>\n

What competencies<\/strong> do employers need to interact with refugees correctly?<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s European labour markets<\/strong> face numerous challenges such as increasing numbers of vacant positions in some sectors<\/strong>, skill shortage<\/strong>, ageing workforces<\/strong>, or the lack of motivated apprentices<\/strong>. Some of the listed challenges are even more critical in rural and remote areas.<\/p>\n

In these circumstances, refugees represent an important resource of human capital <\/strong>and European enterprises need to learn how to exploit the wealth of talent that refugees bring to Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, refugees\u2019 involvement in the labour market <\/strong>has crucial importance for their better integration<\/strong> to the wide society and building their belonging and cohesion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, many European employers are still hesitant to employ refugees<\/strong> and HR managers may lack specific competences and tools needed<\/strong> for successful interaction with refugees.<\/p>\n

COME IN<\/a><\/strong> project intends to fill this gap<\/strong> and make employing refugees and their work integration easier<\/strong> through enhancing employers\u2019 competences and willingness<\/strong> to employ and to successfully interact with refugees.<\/p>\n

On 5th<\/sup> <\/strong>and 6th<\/sup> December<\/strong> 2017<\/strong>, project partners met for the first time at the kick-off meeting in Vienna where they planned the upcoming research<\/strong> and debated the needs of stakeholders in European labour markets.<\/p>\n

From the discussion emerged a draft of research plan and list of sectors most relevant for the refugees\u2019 integration on which the research will focus.<\/p>\n

In the first months of 2018, we will conduct the transnational research<\/strong> and interviews<\/strong> with employers and experts exploring their attitudes toward employment and work integration of refugees and learning more about their training needs. Subsequently, COME IN Training Pack <\/strong>will be developed based on the conclusions drew from the research.<\/p>\n

Training pack will consist of learning units, training materials for face-to-face workshops and online content<\/strong>. To support interaction among employers and sharing of learning materials, information and experience, Open online space and community <\/strong>will be set up.<\/p>\n
