skills<\/strong> about <strong>governance and quality assessment<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>The Kick-Off Meeting of project <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/project\/sagesse\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>sAGESSE \u2013 Improving Governance in the Higher Education system in Tunisia<\/strong><\/a> was held in Tunis from the 9<sup>th<\/sup> to the 11<sup>th<\/sup> January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>sAGESSE aims to support the process of <strong>reform and modernisation<\/strong> undertaken by the <strong>Higher Education Institutions of Tunisia<\/strong> in connection with the post revolution national change, by means of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <strong>improvement of the governance mechanisms<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>the elaboration of <strong>new procedures for financial management<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>the implementation of the<strong> quality assurance and control systems within the Higher Education Institutions;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>the <strong>knowledge and tools enhancement for management, administrative and academic staff.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the meeting the member of the Consortium \u2013 comprising <strong>4 European universities, 13 Tunisian universities, CESIE and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-med.net\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">UNIMED<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 presented a description of their experience, shared common visions about the project and defined the working methodology and the management mechanisms to be adopted, as well as their commitments and activities to be performed over the next years, in particular:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>state-of-art analysis of the governance framework in Tunisia<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training of the trainers<\/strong> of the staff responsible for <strong>quality assurance and strategic planning<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training of the staff<\/strong> responsible for <strong>financial management<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modernising the system for<\/strong> <strong>information and communication<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of e<\/strong>-administration;<\/li>\n<li>Handbook of <strong>Quality Assurance for financial management procedures<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Creation and implementation of <strong>Action Plans<\/strong> for href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/project\/sagesse\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">sAGESSE<\/a> is a project funded within the <a href=\"https:\/\/eacea.ec.europa.eu\/erasmus-plus\/actions\/key-action-2-cooperation-for-innovation-and-exchange-good-practices\/capacity-0_en\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Erasmus+, Capacity Building in the field of higher education<\/a>. Capacity-building Projects are transnational cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships, primarily between higher education institutions (HEIs) from Programme and eligible Partner Countries.<\/p>\n<p>The experience of European partner will be of paramount importance from\u00a0the earliest stages of activities. The presence in the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mes.tn\/?langue=fr\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Consortium of the Tunisian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research<\/a><\/strong> and of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieaqa.com\/index.php\/fr\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">National Authority for Evaluation, Quality Assurance and Accreditation<\/a><\/strong> is particularly significant: they see in the project <strong>an important instrument supporting the policies of modernization of the education system<\/strong> <strong>in response national and international changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The sAGESSE partnership holds together 21 organisations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a
