{"id":53742,"date":"2018-01-11T10:59:04","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T09:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/youth\/shanarani-a-gamification-platform-for-young-people-to-avoid-gender-stereotyping\/"},"modified":"2025-07-16T16:02:29","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T14:02:29","slug":"shanarani-a-gamification-platform-for-young-people-to-avoid-gender-stereotyping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/youth\/shanarani-a-gamification-platform-for-young-people-to-avoid-gender-stereotyping\/","title":{"rendered":"SHANARANI: A Gamification Platform for young people to avoid gender stereotyping"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gender equality<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>decrease of related stereotypes<\/strong>&nbsp;involve a&nbsp;<strong>large audience in Europe<\/strong>&nbsp;in terms of urgent issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>representation of the femininity and masculinity<\/strong>&nbsp;are&nbsp;<strong>social constructions<\/strong>&nbsp;which impose on us since the moment are born. Indeed, young people and youth&nbsp;<strong>workers have often lack of the resources to involve and sensitize their fellows in the topic<\/strong>&nbsp;in order&nbsp;<strong>to prevent inequality, violence and a series of devastating consequences for women and men around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/shanarani\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Shanarani<\/a>&nbsp;project aims to create&nbsp;<strong>attractive new methodologies for young people<\/strong>&nbsp;in order to involve them and to&nbsp;<strong>raise awareness on the importance of reducing gender related stereotyping and gender equal opportunities for all.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By providing exchange of good practices and a sharing of lessons learned in transnational cooperation, Shanarani will develop the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To support youth workers\u00a0<strong>adapting and promoting good practices<\/strong>\u00a0in their work on gender issues and avoidance of stereotyping.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To enhance the participation of youngster<\/strong>\u00a0developing\u00a0<strong>innovative and motivational methodologies<\/strong>\u00a0to overcome stereotypes on gender issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To involve young people and support youth workers through\u00a0<strong>online tools<\/strong>\u00a0such as digital handbooks and an online platform developed during the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To spread project\u2019s results at local, national and international level within communities, stakeholders and decision makers and to raise awareness about gender issues and avoidance of stereotyping.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On&nbsp;<strong>November 29<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 30<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;2017<\/strong>, the first meeting of Shanarani took place in Sofia, Bulgaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the two \u2013 days of meeting all project partners agreed on a strategy for the project\u2019s implementation and shared their knowledges and experiences in the topic, analysing the following future activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creation of\u00a0<strong>three thematic handbooks<\/strong>\u00a0to provide information about the gender status quo in different European countries, to\u00a0<strong>analyse the reproduction of stereotypes<\/strong>\u00a0in those media and music industry, to introduce\u00a0<strong>new attractive methodologies based on acting, theatre and music<\/strong>\u00a0tools and to show up\u00a0<strong>how the \u201cexperience\u201d can help young people to build new role model<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cTrain the Trainer Workshop\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0for youth workers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of\u00a0<strong>SHANARANI Gamified Online Training Platform<\/strong>\u00a0with an online\u00a0<strong>User Manual<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Young people and youth workers<\/strong>&nbsp;will be&nbsp;<strong>constantly involved<\/strong>&nbsp;in the development of the activities and the creation&nbsp;<strong>of attractive methodologies in Film, acting, theatre and music areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Gamification Online Training Platform for Gender Issue and stereotypes<\/strong>&nbsp;will collect methodologies, activities and information to help young people to learn about avoidance stereotypes, gender issues and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/shanarani\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Shanarani<\/a>&nbsp;is co-financed by the European Commission thanks to Erasmus+ programme,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/erasmus-plus\/opportunities-for-organisations\/innovation-good-practices\/strategic-partnerships_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Key Action 2 \u2013 Strategic Partnership in the field of Youth<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership is composed by six partners from different part of Europe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/culturalcaminos.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\"
