How to promote diversity in the educational environment<\/strong> and create social bonds among the people with and without disabilities<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

How to support teachers of superior education<\/strong> in applying didactic practices to reduce the disparity in class<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

On the 12th<\/sup> December 2017, the third coordination meeting of the ALdia – Accessible Learning design, implementation, and accreditation<\/a><\/strong> project took place.<\/p>\n

The meeting was hosted by the University of Alicante, which coordinates the project, in the premises of the Comunidad Valenciana in Brussels, Belgium.<\/p>\n

The meeting gave partners the opportunity to discuss the results achieved so far by the project and in particular the completion of the first round of tests of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)<\/strong> with the aim to provide Higher Education and VET<\/strong> professionals<\/strong> with the core knowledge and skills needed for designing and exploiting innovative teaching practices to reduce disparities in learning outcomes affecting learners with special needs<\/p>\n

Within this meeting, the partners dedicated a session to discuss with important external experts of the sector to reflect on the results of the project. In particular, dr. LOV\u00c1SZY L\u00e1szl\u00f3<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 from the UN Commitee on the Right of Persons with Disabilities<\/a><\/strong>, presented the UN\u2019s General Comment n.4 Right to Inclusive Education<\/strong> highlighting how the educational process towards disabled people should not be solved through a mere integration between regular students and students with needs special but rethinking the whole model: from the classroom to the tools, from lecturing to the evaluation methodology, in order to create a truly \u00a0inclusive setting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The session was also an opportunity to evaluate new opportunities for cooperation and dissemination of results outside the European territory.<\/p>\n

ALdia<\/strong> is a project co-funded by the Erasmus + – Key Action 3: Support for policy reform, and refers to Priority 1 – Reducing disparities in learning outcomes affecting learners from disadvantaged backgrounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the ALdia project is the removal of barriers that prevent students with disabilities from participating or completing courses and study programs, promoting equal access to training courses in Europe and the world.<\/p>\n
