The CREATE Toolkit, Arts Therapies with Refugee and Migrant Communities \u2013 Methods and Practice <\/em><\/strong>was the main topic discussed by Art Therapists and Project Mangers from all partner organisations of the project, CREATE\u00a0 \u2013 Creative Therapy in Europe, during the two-day partnership meeting held in Palermo and hosted CESIE on 30th<\/sup> and 31st<\/sup> October 2017.<\/p>\n

The meetings main goal was to define the content of the Toolkit as a resource that aims to provide innovative material for use in supporting people with mental health issues, addressing the specific needs of therapists wanting practical and informative ideas on how to provide effective therapy support to their client groups. The Toolkit is intended to be adapted to the delivery needs of a wide range of therapists and institutions working in resettlement, to the diverse cultural contexts and to the different systems of support services. Therefore, an important aim is that other disadvantaged groups within arts therapies provision can benefit from this Toolkit.<\/p>\n

In developing the Toolkit, partners will contribute to the collection therapist-led guidance in the form of \u201cTop Tips\u201d for effective therapy delivery and covers the main areas of recruitment, preparation and delivery, evaluation and documentation of the therapy process and outcomes. Therapist from every partner country will carry out several case studies in the coming months to demonstrate the variety of methods represented within the therapists\u2019 works and the diverse client groups in which the Therapists of the CREATE project engaged with. In the Toolkit, the case studies will allow sharing the experiences of both therapists and clients during the therapeutic process and the results<\/p>\n

CREATE is co-funded by KA2 Strategic Partnership for ADULT education action of the Erasmus+ Programme<\/strong> that aims to improve the integration of refugees and migrants with mental health problems through the development of Arts Therapies resources, and developing innovative learning approaches to support the professional development of new and existing Creative Therapists.<\/p>\n

CREATE brings together 7 organisations with specific expertise in the development of training programmes, creative therapies, refugee and migrant support and mental health services.:<\/p>\n
