Skills, such as emotional<\/strong>, social<\/strong> and other life skills<\/strong>, have been left at the back stage even if those skills prepare students for a successful transition from school to university<\/strong> and the labour market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since students\u2019 wellbeing, character strengths and social skills have drawn little attention and concern across European schools, SUCCESS<\/a><\/strong> project partners decided to address this gap by introducing innovative interventions combining<\/strong> positive psychology<\/strong> approach with basic employability skills development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Positive Psychology<\/strong> is the scientific study of optimal human functioning that seeks to discover and promote factors that allow individuals, communities and societies to thrive and flourish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Employability skills<\/strong> are typically considered essential qualifications for many job positions and hence have become necessary for an individual\u2019s employment success. These skills such as teamwork, communication, self-management, are highly valued by employers, often far more than educational qualifications offered by formal education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SUCCESS project \u2013 Strategies to Utilise and Cultivate Positive Characteristics & Employability Skills in Schools<\/a><\/strong> will apply the principles, methods and techniques of positive psychology to develop so needed basic employability skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The goal of SUCCESS is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SUCCESS project partners met in Vilnius (Lithuania) on 24-25 October 2017, hosted by the project coordinator Vilnius University<\/a>. They planned future project activities and positive interventions. We, SUCCESS project partners, are concerned that it is needed to focus more on the positive approach of humans, invest in their strengths rather than their weaknesses, emphasise positive emotions, strengthen psychological resilience and the search of the meaning of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SUCCESS is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program, Key Action 2 \u2013 Strategic Partnerships for school education and holds together 6 organisations:<\/p>\n\n\n\nWhat is Positive Psychology?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
