How to improve educational and professional vocational systems<\/strong> to support disadvantaged young people<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Symbols can contribute to increase self-awareness<\/strong>, self-esteem<\/strong>, the goals definition<\/strong> and entrepreneurship <\/strong>among young people.<\/p>\n

Ten participants tested on themselves SymfoS –\u00a0 Symbols for success<\/strong><\/a> counselling interventions<\/strong> during the second SymfoS transnational train-the-trainer training<\/strong> reserved to social workers, trainers, youth workers and career officers working in the different project’s partner organisations.<\/p>\n

SymfoS\u00a0train-the-trainer training<\/h1>\n

\u201cI realised how to start the change<\/strong>\u201d, \u201cI saw in a single picture an entire life<\/strong>\u201d, \u201cI clarified my emotions regarding a specific situation\u201d: these are some of the feedback that the participants of the training of the European project shared after experiencing as clients.<\/p>\n

The participants came from Austria, Germany, Ireland, Spain and Italy. They aimed to adopt the SymfoS holistic career and education guidance method<\/strong> in their daily work to help young people take concrete steps forward their future.<\/p>\n

The training took place in the Spanish town of Vel\u00e9z-Malaga from 16th to 20th October<\/strong> and was hosted by Asociaci\u00f3n Caminos<\/a>.
\nThe sessions were guided by two experienced trainers, Paul Shober (Hafelekar<\/a>) and Stefan Henke (Sozialwerk D\u00fcrener Christen e.V.<\/a>) who adopted a learning-by-doing approach<\/strong> and introduced counselling sessions with local young people and several moments for practical activity and reflection sharing.<\/p>\n

SymfoS\u00a05-step counselling method<\/h1>\n

During the five days of training the participants acquired the basic approach to work with symbols<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They learned the counselling method structured in 5 steps<\/strong>, the different counselling scenarios<\/strong> and played the roles of counsellor<\/strong>, client and observer during the interventions to fully understand the potential of the methods.<\/p>\n
