Harraga<\/em><\/strong> is the Arabic term defining young people who risk everything to emigrate<\/strong>, burning the borders<\/em> to build new paths of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence the name of the Ragazzi Harraga project that aims to support them through professional and personal opportunities highlighting their courage and their fundamental contribution in the society where they live in.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>On Thursday 28th September from 17,00<\/strong> at Santa Chiara Association \u2013 Piazza Santa Chiara, 11, Palermo \u2013 we will introduce Ragazzi Harraga workshops<\/strong>. They intend to increase the socio-cultural inclusion of unaccompanied minors in the city of Palermo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young people, guardians and social workers implied in communities are all invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshops will start on 17th October 2017<\/strong> and they will be repeated in several cycles during the project. They are addressed to all young people aged 15-20 in the city of Palermo<\/strong>, which are interested in living an extraordinary experience of experimentation<\/strong>. During the workshops they will be able to meet other young people and spread their skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ragazzi Harraga is born to strengthen the reception system of unaccompanied minors<\/strong>, enhancing their enormous resources and consolidating operational models<\/strong> to protect the children and young people rights<\/strong> in Italian territory. It includes several tools \u2013 such as the shared social folder<\/strong> \u2013 which enhances the dialogue between all the social actors involved in the inclusion paths of these boys and girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project offers training and orientation courses<\/strong>, employment opportunities through work grants<\/strong>, housing solutions for the youngsters \u2013 just over the age of majority, the ones who are leaving the receiving communities \u2013 and the creation of a guesthouse where some of them will work. The project aims accompanying young people towards autonomy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>Thanks to the workshops, about 240 children and young welcomed at the first and second reception centres <\/strong>of Palermo are expected to be involved in<\/strong>, increasing the interaction of all the young people living in the city. For this reason, the planned workshops will work toward cultural and gender heterogeneity<\/strong>, involving girls and boys living in the territory of Palermo without any distinction regarding the country of origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/strong>Thanks to all the actions of the project, we espect to involve about 400 minors alone in Palermo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
